Molybdenum is an enzyme and probably one you have never heard about. I doubt there are many parents out there saying “you need to eat your beans to get molybdenum”. This enzyme helps a lot with energy production, digestion, and excretion. Enzymes are the workhorse and powerhouse of our bodies. Nutrients are like the building materials on a worksite and enzymes are the construction workers.
A deficiency of molybdenum is quite rare as our bodies need a small amount to function.
I was born in the Caribbean where everything I ate was organic - but I didn't even know it then. Then I realized foods cooked with minimally processed ingredients just tasted better, more wholesome. I spent years trying to make almost everything myself. I went to the extremes and then balanced out a bit. I now live in the US where life can be really busy at times. I am still very passionate about eating clean, but recognize that its not always possible. My articles emphasize this mind-set. I don't want to shame someone for eating processed foods, but my goal is to research and educate and then encourage living a healthier lifestyle when life allows it.http://159.65.166.150
